Special Announcement Regarding the 2020/2021 Religious Ed Year:

Dear Families,

May God continue to bless us with His grace and peace.

As previously announced all instruction will be provided digitally for the 2020/2021 year. Each student should have received a logon for our online textbook. Families may access curriculum guides for each grade level by clicking on the Educational Resources tab above and then choosing the appropriate grade level. The student, with the guidance and assistance of a parent, may work on the chapter at any time that is convenient for him/her as long as the chapter is completed and submitted by the due date. Supplemental material will be added as the year progresses.

It is important to mention our policy on in-home group instruction. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that, “Parents are the principal and first educators of their children.” (CCC 1653) Our new online program is designed for students and parents to work together as a family unit. With this in mind, the Diocese of Rockville Centre does not permit parents to teach children other than their own in the home. This creates a liability issue for the parish and the Diocese. At the present time our parish and the Diocese of Rockville Centre do not endorse in-home classes with children other than the ones that reside in the home.

Your patience as we adapt our program is most appreciated. God Bless.

Welcome to Our Program

Our Religious Education Program is designed to assist parents, who are the primary educators of their children, in forming their children in the Catholic faith. What an honor it is for us to have a role in your child’s precious journey toward a deep and life-long relationship with Jesus. We are dedicated to assisting you in providing a faith-filled religious education experience for you and your children. The parish, in cooperation with the parents, seeks to form the children through prayer, instruction, service and attendance at Sunday Mass. It is our privilege to be part of the faith formation of the children of our parish.

We offer Religious Education classes beginning in Grade 1 and continuing through Grade 8. In conjunction with our classes, we also assist parents in preparing their children to receive the sacraments of Penance and First Eucharist in Grade 2 and the sacrament of Confirmation in Grade 8.

Please call the Religious Education Office for more details. We look forward to working with you in spreading the Word of God to our young people.
