Grade 1

First Grade Curriculum

Textbook Title:

The students are introduced to the Holy Trinity through studying the development of salvation history and presentations on God the Father, the life of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Students are also introduced to God's plan and their participation in God's family which includes Mary, the angels and the saints. The emphasis of the first grade curriculum is for students to grow to know, love and trust God.

Prayer is an important element of the first-grade curriculum. Learning the Sign of the Cross, the Hail Mary and the Our Father is part of the curriculum. Parents, please pray with your child as you teach them these prayers.

Student Expectations

Students are expected to hand in assignments weekly. In order to keep your child on track and not overwhelmed, follow the assignment list weekly. Completion of all assigned lessons must be done by the due dates above in order for your child to be promoted to Grade 2.
